Developer Manual
The target audience of this manual are the actual application developers. The manual is a hyperlinked document so the reader can follow the pages in any way he likes. The recommended starting point however is the Jumpstart page. The following section defines the terminology used on the manual pages.
Terminology
Object Hierarchy
Displayed on the left-hand side of a Gantt chart. Used to express structures such as resource hierarchies or tasks and their subtasks.
Hierarchy Node
Elements of the object hierarchy. The root node of a hierarchy might for example be a company with plants as its child nodes. Machines could be the child nodes of the plant nodes, etc...
Timeline Object
An object with a time span (a start and an end time) that is owned by a hierarchy node and that is allocated to a specific time span. If the timeline object‘s time span has a duration of zero then the timeline object is considered to be an event, otherwise it is an activity.
Eventline Object
Similar to a timeline object but not owned by any specific node. Eventline objects represent activities or events that are relevant for the entire object hierarchy (example: company vacation, national holidays, project milestones).
